Leo Ramos - Biography

An artist since the day he was born, Leo Ramos prefers oil painting and drawing from life. Leo grew up in Kensington, MD where he currently resides but spends part of the year in Colombia, South America where he was born. He started painting in high school under the tutelage of Walt Bartman III and then became an apprentice and assistant for Walt Bartman II at the Yellow Barn Studio where he learned the value of craftsmanship and hard work. He has received several awards including Maryland Distinguished Scholar in the Arts, Congressional Scholar in the Arts, and first and second place award at the Kensington paint the town plein air event. His work can be found at Gallery 322 in Frederick Maryland. Leo is currently the manager of the Yellow Barn Studio.
