Membership in the Friends of the Yellow Barn Studio

Please support the Yellow Barn Studio by becoming a member of the Friends of the Yellow Barn Studio. 

As a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, the Friends of the Yellow Barn Studio is organized for charitable and educational purposes. The Friends' mission is to raise money through donations and grants for renovations and programs associated with the art studio, known as the Yellow Barn at Glen Echo. The Friends’ philosophy, consistent with the spirit of the late 19th Century Chautauqua movement upon which Glen Echo Park was founded, is that art is universal and thus should be accessible to all. The Friends’ goal is to build an arts community by encouraging all area residents of all ages and all means to experience the wonder of the visual arts, through drawing and painting.

The Friends' is dedicated to providing educational and exhibition opportunities to its members.  The Friends' relies on your membership dues to support the three annual member shows (the Drawing Exhibition, the Small Works Show and the Members Show), and to offer speaker and workshop events when possible.  Your membership fee also supports the annual High School Exhibition, a juried show for all high school art students in the DMV region.

The minimum annual tax-deductible membership fee is $70. There will be no additional fees for submitting your work to the Drawing Exhibition, the Small Works Show, or the annual juried Members Show.  When possible, lectures from local, regional, and national artist are available for free to members.

The Friends of the Yellow Barn Studio welcomes any and all contributions, so we have structured these membership levels:

- Edgar Degas (1834-1917)              $70

 

- Paul Cezanne  (1839-1906)           $100

 

- Henri Matisse (1844-1926)            $250
