Annual Friends of the Yellow Barn Drawing, Watercolor & Digital Art Exhibition
Labor Day Weekend at the Yellow Barn Studio and Gallery
September 5th to September 7th, 2026

The Friends of the Yellow Barn are holding a Drawing, Watercolor and Digital Art exhibition open to all members of the Friends of the Yellow Barn. This will be a “live” show only with no on-line component. The exhibition will take place Labor Day weekend, September 5th – September 7th from 12:00-5:00pm. A reception for the exhibition will be held on Saturday, September 5th from 5:00-7:00pm.
This year, the Friends will sponsor several awards:

There is a single Best in Show prize. Second, Third and Honorable mentions, will be awarded in each category.
Best in Show: $250
Second Place: $150
Third Place: $100
Honorable Mentions: $50 Gift card to Blick Art Materials
Instructors not eligible for prizes.
Eligibility Requirements:

All work must be original, in a drawing medium (pastel is accepted) or water based medium, water color or gouache, and digital art professionally framed and, ready to hang with wire along the width of the work. All work on paper must have glass or Plexiglas.

Please attach an index card to the back of the work with Title, Artist’s name, dimensions, email or phone #

Gallery has the right to turn away work for not following these guidelines.

All artwork must not have been shown previously at a Friends of the Yellow Barn Exhibition

Drop off art work (label located on back of art) Friday September 4th, 4:00-6:00 pm

Saturday, Sunday and Monday - September 5th, 6th and September 7th: Gallery Open from 12:00-5:00pm,

Artist Reception, Saturday September 5th from 5-7pm

Pick up unsold work at 5pm, on Monday September 7th.

About the Exhibition:
Every Labor Day at the Yellow Barn Studio our instructors, students, and members celebrate Drawing, Watercolor and Digital Art. While the Yellow Barn is known for its classes in oil, watercolor, and acrylic painting; we understand the importance of drawing and how exceptional drawing skills lead to exceptional paintings. This exhibition celebrates pencil, pastel, pen and ink, charcoal, and any medium used to make a line. In addition we have added water based media and Digital Art into the mix to support the many water color, gouache and digital art artists; associated with the Friends of the Yellow Barn Studio.
